Nickle's Energy Group provides the Breaking Energy News and Technology Updates free of charge to all Nickle's website visitors. Breaking Energy News is often the lead story from the latest edition of the Daily Oil Bulletin. However, if there is a pressing news story that needs to be delivered to our readers immediately, it will be posted here.

Technology Update is a feature article from Nickle's New Technology Magazine. New Technology Magazine covers new and cost-saving technologies in the upstream oil and gas industry.

Nickle's Home Page Headlines

Headlines of articles published in Nickle's publications are provided to give visitors a sampling of our online features. The article headline, category and publication date are displayed with linked articles going to the applicable website or, in the case of free information, to the story itself. Clicking the Next button takes the reader to more current articles of interest.

Search Features

    1. Home Page Search
      1. Category Search
        1. Choose a category from the Category drop-down list
        2. Click on the "Go" button
      2. Search Our Online Publications
        1. Type the search criteria into the field
        2. Click on the "Go" button
        3. Returned will be articles from any online publication that fit the search criteria.

      1. Click the "Search" link in the top navigation
      2. Enter Keyword(s)
        1. Match All Words
          • More than one word in the same document. For example, when searching for oil AND gas, all documents containing both the words oil and gas will be displayed.
        2. Match Any Words
          • Either word in a document. For example, when searching for oil OR gas, all documents containing either oil or gas will be displayed.
        1. Boolean Search
          • When typing in the "and" operator between two words (e.g., "oil AND gas") you are searching for all articles containing both of the words. When typing in an "or" operator between two words (e.g., "oil OR gas") you are searching for articles containing either of the words.
          • When searching for the first term without the second term in a document. For example, oil AND NOT gas, will display all documents with the word oil but not gas.
          • A more complicated search can consist of several terms in the same document, but not others close together. For example, when searching for (oil OR gas) AND NOT (abandon NEAR well), you are searching for documents containing the words oil or gas but not the word abandon near the word well.
          • Use double quotes (") to find exact phrases. For example, "oil and gas" will find documents with the exact phrase, but will not display documents where the phrase is not exactly as typed.
        1. Choose Nickle's Publication(s)
          • Nickle's has several websites that are searchable. You can restrict your search to one or more online products, or choose the "All" check box to search within every publication listed.
        1. Select a Category
          • You can choose a specific category from the drop-down list to narrow down the search results. If unsure of the category that applies to your query, choose "All".
        1. Select a Date Range
          • When searching under the Advanced Search, only articles for the current and past year will be displayed. Results will appear by publication date(s) chosen in the From and To fields, with the latest date first.

Cookies

A cookie is a small bit of information placed on your computer by a Web page. It is used to identify you to the Web server. Printing Articles

Nickle's provides a "Printer friendly version" which allows users to print individual articles without the navigation for their own personal use.

    1. Go to www.nickles.com
    2. Click on the link to the article you wish to print
    3. Click on the "Printer friendly version" link
    4. (Internet Explorer or Netscape):
        1. Choose File > Print from the browser's menu bar; or,
        2. Click on the Printer icon in the browser's button bar

Viewing Adobe Acrobat PDF Files

The Acrobat Reader is available free of charge from Adobe at Adobe Acrobat Family.

Viewing PDF files:
When you click on the file name, the Reader will open and allow you to view the file within your Web browser.

Make Nickle's Your Home Page

You can make Nickle's your browser's home page!

In Internet Explorer 6:

    1. Go to Tools > Internet Options
    2. In the text field beside "Address:" (Home Page section), type http://www.nickles.com
    3. Click <OK>
    4. Click the "Home" button in the toolbar

In Netscape 8:

    1. Go to Edit > Options
    2. In the left window pane choose "General"
    3. On the right side where it says "Location(s):", type http://www.nickles.com
    4. Click <OK>
    5. Click the "Home" button in the toolbar

In Firefox 2:

    1. Go to Tools > Options
    2. In the left window pane choose "Main"
    3. On the right side where it says "Home Page:", type http://www.nickles.com
    4. Click <OK>
