Kelly
A square or hexagonal steel pipe which transfers the rotating motion of the rotary table to drill string.
Kerogen
The hydrocarbon in oil shales.
Kick
A well is said to kick if the formation pressure exceeds the pressure exerted by the mud column. Indicates blow out.
Kilowatt-Hour (kWh)
A unit of energy equal to the work done by one kilowatt acting for one hour. The most commonly used unit of electrical energy.
